Job summary

Clarity Recruitment is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for a leading national retailer in Toronto, Ontario. You will partner with the Controller, own external reporting, variance analysis, and IFRS-based financial statement preparation in a large, complex environment.

This is a growth role offering increased ownership, exposure to technical accounting judgment, and a clear path toward a Manager-level position over time.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting or industry).
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Working knowledge of IFRS
• Strong communicator, comfortable presenting analysis to senior stakeholders
• Comfortable working full-time, five days a week on-site

Responsibilities

• Own preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and specific P&L/balance sheet accounts through month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Contribute to financial statement preparation (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and consolidations under IFRS
• Conduct variance analysis and prepare commentary for the Controller's review
• Support external audit and regulatory filing requirements
• Partner directly with the Controller on GL review and management reporting

Our client is a multi-billion dollar retailer with a national footprint and a publicly traded finance function. This Senior Financial Analyst role is a step up in ownership and scope, built for someone ready to move beyond execution into higher-responsibility financial reporting and analysis.

You'll work directly with the Controller as their right hand, taking on external reporting, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation within a large, complex reporting environment. It's a genuine growth seat: more ownership, more exposure to technical accounting judgment, and a credible path toward a Manager-level role over time.

Key Responsibilities
