Our Finance team is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst r eporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting and Analysis, to lead and support a wide range of financial activities—from full-cycle accounting and reporting to payroll systems, budgeting, forecasting, audit prep, and policy development. This role plays a key part in performing full-cycle accounting activities, including month-end and year-end, preparing internal management reports and variance analyses, and supporting multi-year budgets and quarterly forecasts as well as financial statement production and audit support. The Senior Financial Analyst will also support the implementation and optimization of payroll processing and systems, contribute to the development of accounting policies and process improvements, and provide financial advisory and compliance support across the organization. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, including auditors, government partners, and the Board of Directors, while helping to advance iGaming Ontario’s financial systems and tools.

Responsibilities in the role include :
- Performing full-cycle accounting and financial transactions and account reconciliations ensuring compliance with GAAP / IFRS and internal controls.
- Processing accounts payable, invoice, contract and purchase order tasks, ensuring the timely processing and oversight of the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay cycle.
- Supporting the processing of payroll to ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time, ensure compliance with current tax regulations, governmental laws and company policies.
- Collaborating with IT on asset management and system reconciliations, including asset disposal.
- Participating in budgeting and forecasting providing variance analyses, and risk assessments.
- Supporting year-end audit activities, including preparing process narratives, financial reports, and transaction schedules.
- Preparing and organize supporting documentation, schedules, and samples for annual audit requirements and external stakeholders.
- Performing financial research and analysis related to KPIs, forecasting, reconciliations, and performance metrics.
- Helping improve financial system, processes, and reporting tools.
- Contributing to the development and documentation of financial policies and support decision-making across corporate initiatives.
- Providing financial controllership and advisory support to ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and best practices.
The ideal candidate will have :
- A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- CPA designation (completed or in final stages) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience as an Accountant or Financial Analyst in a full-cycle accounting and finance environment and 5+ years of relevant experience in financial reporting, planning, analysis, policy and accounting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of full-cycle accounting processes and financial transactions, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing tasks, in accordance with GAAP / IFRS.
- Full-cycle accounts payable and procure-to-pay experience.
- Demonstrated experience in assisting with financial statement preparation, notes and disclosures, consolidation, year-end close adjustments, accruals, etc.
- Experience working closely with other divisions / departments and project managers to ensure accurate financial planning (budgeting / forecasting) and reporting, monitoring of project progress, identifying variances, and reforecasting expenses and project costs as necessary.
- Expert level knowledge of financial planning, reporting and analysis, including preparing regular financial reports and statements for various stakeholders and senior management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS) and auditing standards, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Proficiency in financial ERP systems and advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, investigate discrepancies, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights. Analytical skills to compile and analyze data from a variety of sources, knowledge of recognized research, statistical and analytical tools and methods, with the ability to formulate accurate conclusions and recommendations and prepare related reports / materials.
- A proactive mindset with a strong desire to take ownership of deliverables and projects from initiation to completion, continuously seeking improvements. Project management skills to lead and coordinate initiatives from the initial concept to its successful implementation / completion with ability to prioritize a variety of competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while consistently meeting deadlines and business objectives.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate financial insights into strategic business recommendations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to advise and prepare and provide presentations, instructions, options, and reports and liaise with various corporate support groups as well as present to Senior Management.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot financial issues, assess risks, and make sound decisions that effectively support business operations.
- Experience utilizing MS Office Suite of programs (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Access) at the Advanced Level.
- Experience in financial system administration and oversight, with good understanding of the software development life cycle and financial system technologies. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is considered an asset.
- Experience with financial system configuration, implementation, administration and oversight is an asset.
- Experience with budgeting software and budget administration across divisions is an asset.

This position currently offers a hybrid work location. iGaming Ontario has implemented a minimum three-day per week in-office schedule. iGaming Ontario reserves the right to change this policy and its office location at any time.
This position falls within the scope of a bargaining unit represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU). In the upcoming months, iGaming Ontario and OPSEU will be negotiating the terms of a collective agreement which, once concluded, will govern the terms and conditions of this position.
