Imagine Recruitment & Advisory has an opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst in the energy sector. The role involves daily accounting operations, general ledger entries, reconciliations, and assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, as well as sales tax compliance.

The position offers a base salary of CAD 85K–CAD 95K with a bonus, retirement savings program, benefits, and opportunities for internal advancement within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
• CPA designation or in progress is required.
• 4+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and review of the corporate monthly and quarterly reporting package including financial statements and note disclosures.
• Analyze impact to financial statements, liaise with capital markets, prepare quarterly journal entries and variances.
• Prepare and review non-audited legal entity financial statements quarterly.
• Support internal and external reporting audits and ad-hoc requests.
• Assist with other accounting projects and functions as required.
• Present analyses and reports to senior management to support business decisions.
• Manage monthly close processes including accounting entries, accruals and reconciliations.
• Assist with consolidated financial forecasts and track global subsidiary results.
• Identify efficiency improvements in processes, tools and reports.
• Contribute to ad-hoc analyses for senior management.

Our client within the energy industry is seeking a strong Senior Financial Analyst to join their growing team. In this role, as a Senior Financial Analyst, you will assist our client with daily accounting operations, including preparing and/or reviewing appropriate general ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, sales tax compliance and filings, and other related duties.

This role offers a competitive compensation package including base salary of $85K-$95K, bonus, retirement savings program, benefits program, and more. Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and review of the corporate monthly and quarterly reporting package which includes financial statements and support for note disclosures.
• Analyzing the impact to the financial statements, liaising with capital markets team, preparing the quarterly journal entries, and analyzing against comparative periods to identify variances and anomalies.
• Preparation and review of non-audited legal entity financial statements submitted on a quarterly basis.
• Support internal and external reporting audits and assist with ad-hoc requests as required.
• Assist with other accounting related projects and functions as required.
• Present various analyses and reports for senior management, such as operating metrics and corporate financial results to support their business decision-making.
• Preparation and review of monthly close processes including corporate accounting entries, period-end accruals and reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing consolidated financial forecasts, tracking global operating results of subsidiaries and articulating these results to key stakeholders.
• Continuously look for efficiency in our processes, tools and reports and make suggestions to implement these into our framework.
• Ad-hoc analyses in support of the senior management team.
