Job summary

IFG - International Financial Group in Mississauga is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Finance team. The role focuses on financial reporting, month‑end close, full‑cycle accounting, and analysis to support North American operations.

You will collaborate with the Senior Manager, Finance and Corporate Controller to ensure accurate reporting and to improve financial processes, driving business insights and timely closes.

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial closing activities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and month‑end working papers.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
• Perform variance analysis, comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts.
• Investigate financial discrepancies and provide explanations for variances.
• Develop and improve management reporting packages and financial analysis tools.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Conduct financial analysis to support operational and strategic business decisions.
• Work closely with the Corporate Controller and Finance team on accounting and reporting activities.
• Participate in process improvements, internal controls, and special projects.

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join their Finance team.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in financial reporting, month‑end close, full‑cycle accounting, and financial analysis while supporting the company's North American operations.
