Overview

Senior Financial Analyst role at Stevenson & White in Ottawa. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will be integral in supporting strategic decision‑making through insightful analysis, reporting and recommendations. You will serve as a strategic business partner to property operations, streamline processes, and champion continuous improvement within the property management finance function.

Responsibilities
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for a portfolio of properties
  • Turn financial data into actionable strategies that boost efficiency, occupancy, and growth
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for senior management and property owners
  • Collaborate with external accountants on year‑end financial statement preparation
  • Partner with property management teams to track performance, highlight trends, and guide operational decisions
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and stakeholders to streamline processes, manage cash flow, and ensure financial governance
  • Work with maintenance teams to monitor weekly work orders and renovations, identifying trends and key focus areas
  • Mentor junior analysts, strengthening team financial knowledge and professional growth
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives as required
Qualifications
  • CPA designation complete or in progress is preferred
  • Post-secondary education in finance and / or accounting required
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive full‑cycle accounting experience
  • Sound knowledge of ASPE
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Exceptional analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Previous real estate or property management industry experience is considered a strong asset
  • Previous experience with Yardi considered an asset
