Job description

Are you ready for your next challenge? We are currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst! This individual will work closely with the Financial Analysts to provide budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, business analysis, and business decision support to the organization. Additionally, this role will play a vital part in addressing the reporting needs of the organization and the analyst will help review analyses results, develop insightful suggestions, and facilitate strategic business decisions.

What will you be doing!

  1. Analyzing monthly, quarterly, and year-over-year results and trends; producing and updating rolling forecasts and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data and information.
  2. Conducting and evaluating what-if analysis on various business scenarios and performing cost-benefit or breakeven analysis on specified projects.
  3. Promoting consistent implementation and use of corporate financial policies, processes, guidelines, and tools in order to maintain integrity, safeguard corporate assets, and mitigate risk.
  4. Providing financial planning, business analysis, and business decision support to the organization.
  5. Providing effective financial oversight and reviewing of project estimates, contracts, service agreements, and purchase commitments for accuracy and compliance with policy.
  6. Developing and maintaining analytics solutions to generate reports and data that will enable systemic improvement in CNL’s services on an ongoing and repeatable basis. Examples include: metrics reporting and analysis, service dashboards, savings reporting, contract compliance analysis.
  7. Facilitating and providing operations and strategic analysis with recommendations in support of overall program and project delivery.
  8. Providing recommendations/oversight on program expenditures and revenues in support of the company’s financial management framework.
  9. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.

What we are looking for:

  1. Completed post-secondary education in a related field, commerce, finance, economics, accounting, business administration;
  2. CPA designation is preferred;
  3. 7-10 years’ experience in a financial business decision support role;
  4. Knowledge of PowerBI is essential;
  5. Sound knowledge of financial analysis techniques, business analysis, and planning methodology;
  6. Analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to think strategically and independently;
  7. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, investigate variances, and provide assessment of future impacts;
  8. Good analytical, written, oral, and presentation skills with proven track record of effectively communicating actionable insights;
  9. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required;
  10. Advanced knowledge of Oracle financial reporting system is preferred;
  11. Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

CNL works with employees across Canada to enable a remote workforce where possible. Our Work from Home employees are provided with the equipment required to be successful: laptop, monitor, external etc. Of course, we always love a visit to site when possible!
