Description

Our client in Banff is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant Consultant to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and efficient financial reporting. This is a contract position with a duration of 4–6 months, offering mostly remote work with some travel required.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Manage full-cycle accounting duties and month-end closing procedures
2. Monitor daily maintenance of cash accounts and bank account reconciliations
3. Maintain appropriate internal controls
4. Establish and maintain documentation pertaining to accounting procedures / processes as applicable to the area of responsibility
5. Guide and mentor junior accountants
6. Provide analysis on reporting variances and ad-hoc support as needed (e.g., Business Interruption support)
7. Oversee accounts payable process
8. Prepare and file government returns and filings as needed

Your strengths include:

• Bachelor’s degree and CPA designation
• Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Proficient in Excel
