Senior Financial Accounting Consultant

Our client in Banff is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant Consultant to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and efficient financial reporting. This is a contract position with a duration of 4–6 months, offering mostly remote work with some travel required.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

1. Manage full-cycle accounting duties and month-end closing procedures
2. Monitor daily maintenance of cash accounts and bank account reconciliations
3. Maintain appropriate internal controls
4. Establish and maintain documentation pertaining to accounting procedures/processes as applicable to the area of responsibility
5. Guide and mentor junior accountants
6. Provide analysis as needed on reporting variances and any ad-hoc help as required (e.g., Business Interruption support)
7. Oversee accounts payable process
8. Prepare and file government returns and filings as needed

Your strengths include:

1. Bachelor’s degree and CPA designation
2. Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
4. Proficient in Excel
