Job summary

Alstom Canada is seeking an experienced Finance Project Manager to lead financial aspects of major projects, partnering with Project Management and Operations Finance to drive strategy and performance. You’ll optimize tax, hedging, and financing while ensuring IFRS compliance and robust cash flow management.

The role emphasizes accurate forecasting, risk mitigation, and mentoring junior finance staff within a collaborative, global team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Finance Project Manager or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of industrial environments; experience in industrial controlling is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
• Fluency in French and English is required; knowledge of an additional language is an asset.
• Experience in auditing or project operations is an advantage.
• Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial aspects of high-criticality projects to improve overall performance.
• Partner with the Project Manager to drive financial strategy and decision-making.
• Optimize financial elements such as organization, tax, hedging, and financing.
• Provide financial analysis, advice, and guidance to project teams.
• Ensure compliance with financial rules and regulations, including IFRS.
• Monitoring and improving contract margins, cash flow, and working capital optimization.
• Managing costs, revenue, and profitability while preparing accurate financial forecasts.
• Supporting claim management and negotiations with a focus on financial terms and risk mitigation.
• Coaching junior Finance Project Managers to build their skills and capabilities.
