Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Manager of Finance - Controllers to lead the financial close, ensure strong controls, and partner with stakeholders across the business. The role requires IFRS expertise, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16, and a track record of process optimization.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in a similar accounting role, CPA or equivalent asset, and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. A hybrid work model and emphasis on collaboration and growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or related field.
• CPA designation or equivalent finance experience is considered an asset.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience applying IFRS accounting standards, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with automation, AI, machine learning, or data analytics tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the financial close process, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial results while maintaining a strong control environment and reporting requirements.
• Partner with various business stakeholders to understand the business
• Analyze and present financial information to drive value-add decision-making
• Provide guidance on new transactions, projects, processes and accounting standards while maintaining strong governance and controls
• Review, analyze and summarize accounting for contracts, policies and complex transactions
• Drive transformation of financial close activities through process optimization, centralization, automation, and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.
• Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, systems, data quality, and reporting capabilities, partnering with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
• Lead and support strategic projects and organizational transformation initiatives.
• Manage and develop teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

Salary Range

$100,000 – $110,000 / year
