Job summary

Birks Group in Montreal, QC, is seeking a Senior Manager Finance to lead financial accounting, reporting and governance. You will oversee month-end closes, the external reporting package, tax compliance and the FP&A function, acting as the analytics engine for the finance team.

The role requires 5–7 years of experience, people leadership (2–3 direct reports), and familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS; Big Four experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical capabilities with ability to provide actionable insights.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with financial modelling experience.
• Experience with US GAAP and/or IFRS and SEC filings is required.
• Ability to lead a small team and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close, financial statements, and management reporting.
• Coordinate audits with external auditors for SEC filing readiness.
• Lead FP&A, budgeting, forecasts, and KPI development with dashboards.
• Improve internal controls and financial processes for efficiency.
