Job summary

goeasy is seeking a Senior Manager, External Communications to strengthen its external voice during a growth phase. The role focuses on media relations, storytelling, issues management, executive visibility, and day-to-day reputation support.

The 18-month contract reports to the Vice President, Leadership & Culture and collaborates with cross-functional partners to amplify the corporate narrative. The role also involves proposing and executing proactive external communications plans, monitoring

Qualifications

• 5+ years of corporate communications or public relations experience with a focus on media relations and/or issues management.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills for translating updates into external narratives.
• Understanding of the Canadian media landscape and ability to craft compelling pitches.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
• Experience collaborating across teams and levels with strong relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and refine press releases, statements, key messages, briefing notes, Q&A, and media materials.
• Triage and coordinate media inquiries with timely, accurate responses.
• Identify opportunities to communicate progress, strategic initiatives, and CSR externally.
• Coordinate cross-functional messaging to ensure brand consistency externally and internally.
• Prepare executives for media opportunities with briefing materials and speaking points.
