Placements24 is seeking a Senior Exploration Geophysicist for our client in Kimberley. You will lead seismic data processing, interpretation, and play fairway analysis to identify hydrocarbon prospects.

The role requires a PhD or MSc in Geophysics, 8+ years in exploration geophysics, and proficiency with Petrel, OpendTect, and Landmark. Collaboration with geologists and reservoir engineers is essential, along with mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Physics, or a related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in exploration geophysics, with a focus on seismic interpretation.
• Expertise in 2D/3D seismic data processing and interpretation.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software (Petrel, OpendTect, Landmark).
• Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing workflows, and theory.
• Experience with seismic attribute analysis, AVO analysis, and inversion techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in the Southern African region is desirable.
