Job summary

Symbiotic Group is seeking an experienced Software Developer – ETL to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise-scale data integration solutions. The role focuses on building ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and cloud data platforms, ensuring scalable, maintainable data architecture.

Responsibilities include implementing data pipelines, transforming and cleansing data, and collaborating with analysts, QA, and developers throughout the SDLC to deliver production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with data warehousing design and development.
• Strong expertise in ETL/ELT development and data integration.
• Advanced SQL skills including PL/SQL and T-SQL.
• Experience with relational databases including Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.
• Knowledge of dimensional and relational data modeling.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience creating Azure Data Factory pipelines and custom data integration solutions.
• Proficiency with Python and Unix Shell scripting.
• Experience with Elasticsearch performance tuning and reporting solutions.
• Experience using GitHub for version control.
• Experience working with JIRA and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of Oracle technologies including Oracle Enterprise Manager, RAC, Data Guard, Exadata, and Oracle Warehouse Builder.
• Experience with database recovery, refresh, failover, and performance tuning activities.
• Experience with data migration and integration across different operating environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and expand data pipelines through ETL/ELT activities.
• Build, automate, and optimize complex ETL/ELT processes.
• Develop data transformation, cleansing, loading, and migration solutions.
• Investigate data issues and propose corrective actions in ETL pipelines.
• Ensure scalable, maintainable data architecture aligned with business needs.
• Create and maintain detailed ETL process documentation.
• Translate system specifications into tested applications.
• Develop programming specifications and production-ready code.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and code optimization.
• Support deployment, conversion, and post-launch activities.
• Participate in all phases of the SDLC.
• Design and develop data warehouse solutions with star/snowflake schemas.
• Create denormalized data assets from normalized databases.
• Develop SQL procedures, packages, scripts, and database components.
• Perform database performance tuning and data replication.
• Support data migration and integration across environments.
