Summary

Kelson is looking for a Mechanical Estimator who will be instrumental in the growth and success and achievements of Kelson over the long term. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience.

• This role has significant potential growth for development and is a gateway to substantial career path opportunities. Reporting directly to Kelson’s Chief Estimator , in a team-base environment.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Proficient in Trimble AutoBid Mechanical (or similar software), with demonstrated experience performing piping takeoffs and developing detailed estimates.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the development and maintenance of estimating spreadsheets, bid summaries, cost analyses, and reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of hydronic, steam, condensate, compressed air, natural gas, process piping, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to interpret and analyze mechanical drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements to accurately assess project scope and identify potential risks, exclusions, and opportunities.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and consistently meet bid deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience obtaining, evaluating, and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations, with the ability to perform scope reviews and ensure complete and competitive pricing.
• Proven ability to identify value engineering opportunities and develop cost-effective solutions while maintaining compliance with project specifications and performance requirements.
