Job summary

Peak Construction Group in Surrey, BC is seeking a Senior Estimator with a strong background in construction bids and cost control. Based at our head office in South Surrey, you will lead estimating efforts on diverse projects and partner with project managers and engineers to ensure competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has at least ten years of estimating experience, excellent mathematical skills, and proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of estimating experience in construction.
• Experience estimating ICI and residential projects is an asset.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to understand project requirements and scope.
• Perform quantity take-offs and prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and information as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and ensure compliance with all specifications.
• Analyze project costs and budget forecasts, providing value engineering options where applicable.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates on estimating progress and timelines.
