Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator to join our growing Estimating team in Mississauga, Ontario.

Reporting to the Manager of Studies, the Senior Estimator is responsible for the delivery of capital cost estimates in alignment with the Company's, Client’s and project requirements in terms of accuracy, quality, and schedule.

The tasks you'll perform

• Provide support and / or manage estimating components of studies (concept, scoping, feasibility and detailed).
• Consistently achieve high quality and accurate estimates, which are developed on time and in accordance with project and / or study requirements.
• Using the applicable procedures, systems and protocols, ensure the development of detailed capital cost estimates to a standard that can be adopted as a capital budget should a project be developed.
• Develop and regularly maintain the project scope to facilitate scope change and reporting.
• Manage estimating administration activities as assigned by the Manager of Studies or the Project Delivery Manager
• Develop estimate presentations and peer / Client reviews of the estimate, including benchmarking.
• Prepare estimate basis documents for inclusion into the main study / project documentation as well as relevant estimating commentary in National Instrument 43-101 technical reports for which the Senior Estimator is responsible for compiling.
• Accept responsibility and sign off estimates for which the Senior Estimator is responsible for compiling as Qualified Person as defined in the National Instrument 43-101.
• Manage and follow up other study / project team members to ensure the timely delivery of the estimate deliverables.
• Contribute to range analysis workshops for input into the @Risk model when required.
• Ensure traceability of estimating inputs and costs are maintained for all estimates.
• Ensure a high level of communication is attained with internal and external stakeholders.
• Attend and participate in applicable project meetings.
• Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the Estimating team as required.

The expertise you'll bring

University degree in Engineering or equivalent industry training.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in various aspects of Estimating in the mineral processing and related industries.

Possess and maintain in good standing a registration with a professional association i.e. a self-regulatory organization of engineers, geoscientists, or both engineers and geoscientists such as membership with a Canadian provincial or territorial association of engineers.
