What is the opportunity?

The incumbent is responsible for researching Corporate Actions events, tracking, escalating, and posting all Mandatory Corporate Action events on a multi-mainframe platform system. They will liaise with third parties to ensure timely receipt of entitlements related to Corporate Actions and assist with client inquiries within the processing team.

What will you do?

  1. Ensure all active physical corporate action events are processed and executed according to established policies and procedures.
  2. Provide backup support for the manager when required.
  3. Share best practices across all regional operating units performing similar processes.
  4. Maintain satisfactory internal and external audit, regulatory, and risk ratings and reviews.
  5. Review policies and procedures regularly to ensure they reflect current processes.
  6. Minimize errors and omissions, preventing repetitive issues.
  7. Train new staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness in handling corporate actions, mitigating potential risks.
  8. Process CDS and DTC deposits and withdrawal requests.
  9. Review, investigate, and process Class Action payments to client accounts.
  10. Handle CDS push-out events and process share transfers to global custodians.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 5-7 years of back-office experience within the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of corporate action principles and custody platforms.
  • Intermediate understanding of accounting.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent.

Nice-to-have

  • Canadian Securities Course.
