Job summary

Gowling WLG seeks an Infrastructure & Network Security Architect to lead security architecture across enterprise infrastructure, networking, and cloud platforms. You will translate risk and business needs into architectural standards, reference designs, and scalable roadmaps that align with enterprise objectives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with 5+ years in infrastructure or network security.
• Experience with secure connectivity, the internet edge, remote access, and perimeter defense (SD-WAN, SASE, ZTNA).
• Hands-on experience securing enterprise networks, Azure infrastructure, and internet-facing services at scale.
• Zero Trust architectures aligned to ISO 27001 and NIST-based frameworks.
• Firewall, WAF, IDS/IPS in complex, hybrid environments.
• Understanding of virtualization, containerization, and modern hosting security.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise network and infrastructure security standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps.
• Own the architecture for secure connectivity, the internet edge, remote access, and perimeter defense.
• Design and govern firewall, IDS/IPS, and WAF architectures across on-prem and cloud.
• Define segmentation and Zero Trust patterns across the enterprise.
• Own Azure networking and cloud platform security architecture (Azure Firewall, Front Door, etc.).
• Lead security architecture for containers, virtualization, and hybrid infrastructure.
• Establish secure landing zone and network topology standards for new cloud workloads.
• Guide Active Directory and PKI architecture decisions intersecting with security.
• Govern enterprise security technologies and secure hosting platforms.
• Partner with SecOps on vulnerability management, SIEM integration, and incident readiness.
• Review designs to ensure alignment with security standards.
• Maintain a current risk register with remediation plans.
• Provide technical leadership across infrastructure and cloud engineering teams.
• Influence enterprise architecture decisions and roadmaps.
• Define security standards for managed services and third-party connectivity.
• Mentor engineers on secure design and Zero Trust principles.
• Present cybersecurity risk and roadmap updates to leadership.
• Collaborate with Microsoft Security Architect to maintain a cohesive security architecture.
