Base pay range

CA$106.00/hr - CA$128.00/hr

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for understanding and describing the Health System and translating it into an overall architecture vision, strategy, and a set of architecture principles. It includes active communication and promotion of the vision, strategy, and principles. The role also involves defining the enterprise architecture framework to ensure integrated, cost-effective solutions and a common foundation for all system, service, and infrastructure developments.

Enterprise IT Alignment and Advice

• Support the establishment of a Shared Services Entity (SSE) for IT and back-office support to healthcare agencies and organizations, including Alberta Health, Covenant Health, and Alberta Health Services.
• Define IT governance structures, develop Shared Service Contracts, support Service Level Agreements, and provide IT architecture expertise for digital health initiatives.

IT Architecture Strategy and Governance

• Provide expert guidance to support Alberta Health's IT Operating Model within healthcare systems.
• Establish and support IT governance structures for SSE to ensure smooth transition and alignment.
• Oversee IT system rationalization and integration between Alberta Health and SSE.
• Collaborate with Ministry of Technology and Innovation to review and implement IT Architecture governance models.

Mandatory Qualifications:

(Must have Minimum 5 years of all of the following)

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Experience documenting enterprise application architectures in environments comparable to the Government of Alberta.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting platform solutions in similar enterprise environments.
• Leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Experience in healthcare IT.
• Providing strategic advice on organizational structure and skills for public sector outcomes.
• Experience with data integration in the Canadian eHealth environment.
• Developing application architecture standards and guidelines.
• Experience with FHIR standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting strategic documentation.

Notes on Location:

HYBRID EDMONTON - 3 DAYS/WK IN OFFICE

Standard hours are 8:15 to 4:30 with a 1-hour lunch, Monday to Friday, Alberta time. The resource is expected to work from the office 3 days a week.

Estimated End Date: May 2027

Maximum Duration of Extensions: 1 x 12 months

Rate Range: $106 - $128/hr, based on experience and competitiveness
