Job summary

• Security standards: IAM, encryption, segmentation, vulnerability mgmt.
• Industry experience: 10+ years in Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities.

Our Calgary based client requires a Senior Enterprise Architect for a 1 year contract. Onsite delivery. You will define and execute the strategic technology blueprint across our hybrid cloud environments (AWS and Azure), mission-critical core (SAP), and operational infrastructure. This role ensures their global infrastructure landscape is highly secure, scalable, and fully aligned with energy sector operational demands and corporate business objectives. Role Requirements & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Hybrid Cloud Strategy: Architect and govern scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized multi-cloud infrastructure environments leveraging both Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Energy Data Services) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• SAP Enterprise Integration: Drive the long-term architectural roadmap for the SAP landscape (S/4HANA, Central Finance, or SAP SuccessFactors), ensuring seamless data orchestration and integration between core ERP, field logistics, and cloud-native applications.
• Infrastructure Landscape Modernization: Evaluate and optimize the end-to-end infrastructure landscape, seamlessly bridging traditional corporate data centers with edge computing, remote field networks, and public cloud environments.
• Rigorous Security Architecture: Partner with the CISO team to imbed zero-trust security architectures across IT/OT environments, protecting critical infrastructure against cyber threats while ensuring compliance with global energy regulations and NIST/ISO standards.
• Governance & Standards: Establish enterprise-wide architectural guardrails, reference models, and deployment patterns specifically for cloud migration, SAP integrations, and infrastructure connectivity.

Qualifications & Skills

• GEO EXPEREINCE : Looking for specific exposure within the geology and /or geophysics space -like Geospacial, GIS /Esri, OSDU - data platform, Cloud Platform Mastery: Extensive, hands-on architectural experience with Azure and AWS ecosystem services, preferably backed by professional-level certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional).
• SAP Ecosystem Expertise: Proven track record designing enterprise architectures that incorporate complex SAP environments, including integration middleware, migration strategies, and data archiving.
• Infrastructure & Network Architecture: Deep understanding of modern infrastructure landscapes, including software-defined networking (SDN), hybrid cloud connectivity (ExpressRoute, Direct Connect), edge computing, and high-availability systems.
• Enterprise Security Standards: Comprehensive knowledge of security principles including identity & access management (IAM), data encryption at rest/in transit, network segmentation, and vulnerability management within critical infrastructure sectors.
• Industry Experience: 10+ years in IT/Enterprise Architecture, with a substantial portion spent managing large-scale infrastructure environments in the Oil & Gas, Energy, or Utilities sector.
• Preferred Certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CISSP, SAP Certified Enterprise Architect)
