Job summary

Pantheon is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Customer Runtimes to lead a sizable team focused on building scaled infrastructure services for the Drupal, Wordpress, and Next.js sites of our customers. You will mentor engineers, guide architecture, and drive delivery across a range of critical projects.

The role emphasizes AI-native tooling, Agile practices, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to reduce toil and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software development experience with Staff/Principal level expertise.
• 3+ years in direct people management leading large global teams.
• Track record of driving performance management and cultivating high-performance culture.
• Proven ability to deliver multiple projects while engaging with customers.
• Led cloud and infrastructure modernization initiatives across large fleets.
• AI-native instincts and experience with AI coding assistants.
• Strong practitioner of Agile, Scrum, or similar methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the engineering team through changes, maintaining productivity and morale.
• Manage multiple critical projects with shifting priorities and on-call considerations.
• Define strategy and vision, align priorities with organizational goals.
• Provide technical guidance through architecture discussions and code reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and follow-through.
• Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, across teams and leadership.
• Translate high-level goals into actionable tasks with team autonomy within scope.
