Qualifications

RVA is actively seeking a Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager to join their Land Development team in Toronto.

Our ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, is a self-starter with a high sense of responsibility and is motivated to have a successful career within a dynamic group environment. A keen interest in mitigating the impact of development on the environment through the use of innovative “Green” technologies and low impact development (LID) measures would lend itself well to the role .

Duties:


Your role will involve all facets of land development engineering including preliminary servicing studies, detailed design of site servicing, site grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility engineering, construction related services, contract administration and client contact.

  • Providing project engineering and technical expertise for land development projects including, studies and reports, assessments, modeling, preliminary and detailed design, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, tendering and contract administration.
  • Providing senior review and professional authentication of memos, reports, drawings and other engineering documents
  • Managing of land development projects including scope, schedule, budget and managing client relationships
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies and utility companies and contractors
  • Planning projects, developing accurate scopes of work, cost estimates, project plans, schedules and deliverables to execute high quality projects on time and on budget
  • Leading and participating in Business Development initiatives
  • Preparing proposals
  • Working closely with engineers, designers, drafting and support staff.
  • Mentoring junior engineers, technologists and designers.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) within the province of Ontario.
  • 15 plus years progressive experience in municipal engineering with at least 10 years working in a consultancy.
  • Experience with the design of servicing & grading and/or stormwater management for land development projects.
  • Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven capabilities in writing reports and other technical documents.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3Di.
  • Ability to work independently and in an interactive team atmosphere.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff, project team members and clients.
