Overview: RVA is seeking an experienced Senior Municipal Engineer to join our Halifax office. The role involves leading projects related to roads, water systems, sewage, flood protection, stormwater, and drainage, including planning, design, and rehabilitation of systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the municipal practice in Halifax, including strategic planning and growth initiatives.
  • Drive business development within Halifax and support other regions.
  • Manage client relationships, proposals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Oversee project teams, manage project performance, and ensure quality standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and support budget development.
  • Represent RVA in professional associations and liaise with clients, authorities, and contractors.
  • Mentor team members and support professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 15+ years of municipal engineering experience, with at least 10 years in consultancy.
  • P.Eng. or eligible for registration in Nova Scotia.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Experience in project management, proposal writing, and client development.
  • Knowledge of local standards, permits, and approvals.
