The Halifax office is seeking a full-time Senior Municipal Engineer / Project Manager to join our team. This role has a strong potential for advancement into further leadership positions at the provincial and regional levels.

Duties:

  1. Collaborate with the Vice-President, Halifax, to develop business and operational growth in Halifax, New Brunswick, and the Atlantic regions.
  2. Promote company-wide initiatives across Eastern Canada, including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland & Labrador.
  3. Handle administrative duties such as financial and staff management, staff development, and mentoring.
  4. Engage in marketing activities and proposal development.
  5. Prepare and review reports.
  6. Conduct conceptual designs and quality assurance reviews for infrastructure projects, including road reconstruction, stormwater systems, culverts, watermains, and sewer systems.
  7. Work with Civil Engineers and project team members as part of an integrated team.
  8. Serve as a Senior Project Manager on municipal and infrastructure renewal projects, providing technical expertise and leadership.
  9. Manage municipal engineering projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships.
  10. Coordinate approvals, tender documents, cost estimates, contracts, and reports, including sealing documents.
  11. Prepare and edit AutoCAD and Civil 3D drawings as needed.
  12. Administer engineering and contracts related to municipal projects, including site development and utility systems.
  13. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized institution.
  2. Licensed P. Eng. with over 15 years of progressive municipal engineering experience, including at least 10 years in consultancy.
  3. Project management (PMP) certification is an asset.
  4. Strong ability to develop and maintain positive client and team relationships.
  5. Experience in meeting timelines and budgets, proposal writing, and client development.
  6. Proven report writing and technical documentation skills.
  7. Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  8. Valid driver’s license required.
