Job summary

The Government of Nova Scotia's Department of Public Works in Halifax invites applications for a Senior Engineer. This permanent role focuses on climate resilient infrastructure and federal infrastructure funding programs, aligning provincial and municipal capital plans with national priorities.

You will provide engineering leadership, contribute to strategic project planning, and manage relationships with departments and municipalities to deliver major infrastructure initiatives with impact

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental or Agricultural Engineering and at least 6 years of professional engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in good standing or eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia.
• Strong project management, interpersonal and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with other government departments and municipalities to align infrastructure needs with provincial undertakings.
• Provide subject matter expertise on infrastructure needs and federal programs with emphasis on climate resiliency.
• Provide input into business cases to leverage federal funding for provincial infrastructure needs.
• Advise on major provincial and multi-partner strategic infrastructure projects and emerging issues.
