R.V. Anderson Associates Limited is seeking an Intermediate Civil/Project Engineer for our Halifax office.

You will design municipal infrastructure projects, coordinate approvals, prepare tender/docs, and edit AutoCAD/Civil 3D drawings while supporting contract administration and inspections. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 4–14 years municipal consulting experience, and a Nova Scotia designation, with strong client relations and English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• 4–14 years progressive municipal engineering experience; consultancy experience preferred.
• Valid Engineers Nova Scotia designation in Nova Scotia.
• Strong ability to build client relationships and collaborate with staff.
• Experience with meeting timelines, budgets, proposal writing and client development.
• Proven report writing and technical documentation skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and final designs for municipal projects (stormwater, culverts, watermains, sewers, grading).
• Prepare and coordinate approvals, tender documents, cost estimates, contracts and reports; seal documents.
• Prepare and edit AutoCAD and Civil 3D drawings as required.
• Participate in contract administration and inspections as needed.
• Perform other duties as required for the position.

Intermediate Civil/Project Engineer – Halifax office

Duties

• Preparation of preliminary and final designs for municipal projects, including stormwater projects, culverts, watermains, sanitary and storm sewers and grading. Water and Wastewater treatment experience would be considered an asset.
• Preparation and coordination of approvals, tender documents, cost estimating, contract documents, reports including sealing the documents.
• Preparation and editing of AutoCAD and Civil 3D design drawings as required.
• Participation in contract administration services and inspections where required.
• Other duties as required where appropriate for the position.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• 4-14 years progressive experience in municipal engineering. Consultancy experience preferred.
• Must have a valid Engineers Nova Scotia designation in the province of Nova Scotia.
• The successful candidate will possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and all levels of staff in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience or aptitude for meeting timelines and budgets, proposal writing, client development and other skills appropriate to consulting.
• Proven capabilities in writing reports and other technical documents.
• Demonstrated superior English communication skills, both oral and written.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Compensation Range

The salary range for this position is: $85,000-$135,000. Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
