Job summary

Energy + Environmental Economics (E3) seeks a consultant to support client engagements, develop analytical work, and contribute to reports and presentations. You will work on energy policy and planning projects, collaborating with a team to deliver rigorous analyses and practical recommendations.

The role emphasizes modeling, research, and clear communication to stakeholders, with a hybrid, office‑based environment and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, economics, computer science, public policy, or related field.
• 3-5+ years of related experience in an energy‑related field.
• Experience addressing renewable energy and climate change issues and/or related academic project work.
• Hands‑on experience or knowledge in our Practice Areas: Energy Planning and Policy, Transmission, Pricing and Risk, Market Advisory and Valuation, Distribution Technology and Planning.
• Ability to collaborate, translate technical concepts to broad audiences, take ownership of work, and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist the delivery of customer work through modeling, presentations, and writing sections of reports.
• Conduct independent research and develop reasonable assumptions.
• Fulfill end-to-end internal project obligations.
• Deliver sections of presentations and respond to questions.
• Tackle elaborate analytical tasks and apply QA/QC practices.
• Develop aptitude in flagship modeling tools and data gathering.
