iA Financial Group is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel, Transversal Affairs - Employment, to advise business leaders, HR partners, and stakeholders on a broad range of employment and workplace matters.

The role emphasizes practical, risk-based guidance, policy development, and training across the employment lifecycle, with collaboration across the Transversal Affairs team and external forums. Hybrid work and focus on continuous improvement are key.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in employment and workplace law.
• Law degree (LLB or JD) and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Excellent judgment with practical, risk-based advice aligned with business objectives.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, risk-based legal advice on a wide range of employment matters.
• Manage legal matters involving varying degrees of complexity, sensitivity, and risk.
• Draft, review, and enhance policies, procedures, templates, and governance tools related to the employment lifecycle.
• Support design and delivery of legal training for leaders, HR professionals, and distribution network members.
• Represent iA Financial Group in industry associations and external forums, fostering key relationships.
