Job summary

BinSentry, a fast-growing ag-tech company in KW, seeks a Senior Embedded Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain software for embedded systems powering feed-bin sensors.

You will write embedded C for microcontrollers with FreeRTOS, drive the embedded Linux Yocto project, and create Python tools to support the HD line, ensuring power-efficient and reliable performance across hardware platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years working professionally writing software for embedded devices.
• Proficient in writing mission-critical C or C++ and Python.
• Proficient debugging hardware issues.
• Not afraid to jump in and solve an issue with an oscilloscope.
• Experience with FreeRTOS a plus.
• Experience with AWS IoT ecosystem a plus.
• Experience working with embedded Linux devices a plus.
• Experience working with Yocto a plus.
• JavaScript proficiency a plus.
• Computer vision experience a plus.
• Experience working with cellular modems a plus.
• Experience working with bootloaders a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for embedded systems.
• Write embedded C for microcontrollers driving feed-bin sensors using FreeRTOS.
• Drive embedded Linux project using Yocto and write Python code for the HD line.
• Write power-efficient, reliable code; conduct debugging, reliability testing, and performance optimization.
• Manage fleet deployments and work across our product line, including new hardware projects.
