Position Details

Title: Senior Embedded Developer – Security Specialist (RFID/BLE, Cryptography)

Location: Hybrid – Montreal, QC

Salary Range: $110K–$130K CAD

Experience: 8–15 Years

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Developer with deep security expertise to join our Montreal-based team. If you specialize in RFID/BLE security, cryptographic algorithms, and secure embedded systems, this is a high-impact role shaping the future of electronic access and lock systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Design and enhance secure embedded firmware for electronic locks and access management systems.
2. Implement and verify secure bootloaders, firmware signing, and OTA update security mechanisms.
3. Review, integrate, and optimize cryptographic protocols including key management, encryption, and authentication tailored to RFID and BLE technologies.
4. Identify and mitigate potential security threats such as unauthorized access and credential cloning.
5. Ensure adherence to security standards and industry best practices for electronic access control systems.

Required Skills & Experience

1. 10+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, with a strong focus on device-level security.
2. Proficient in C programming, and experienced with STM32, ARM Cortex-M, FreeRTOS, and Zephyr.
3. In-depth knowledge of RFID/BLE security mechanisms, cryptographic algorithms, and secure element chips.
4. Practical experience with secure bootloaders, firmware encryption, and over-the-air (OTA) update security.
5. Understanding of hardware security modules (HSMs) and embedded encryption technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
