Job summary

Price Electronics, a division of Price Industries, is seeking an Embedded Designer to design, implement, test, and support embedded software for HVAC and Building Automation products in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop firmware for microcontroller-based systems, integrate communication networks, and contribute to scalable control platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing embedded systems (professional or project).
• Degree or Diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or CS.
• Proficiency in C development for microcontroller-based products.
• Experience debugging embedded hardware and software systems.
• Understanding of communication protocols and networking concepts.
• Experience using Git or similar source control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for HVAC/building automation products.
• Participate in the complete product lifecycle from concept to production release and ongoing support.
• Develop and troubleshoot embedded communication networks and system integrations.
• Support hardware bring-up, product validation, and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Investigate and resolve firmware, hardware, production, and field-related issues.
• Develop test methods, automation tools, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including hardware, manufacturing, quality, and product management.
• Take ownership of technical features, subsystems, or products and deliver reliable solutions focused on quality, maintainability, and customer value.
