Job description

Senior Electronics Engineer - Robotic Grasping Systems

Ocado Technology designs and deploys thousands of robots across 4 different continents. We are currently seeking excellent Electronics Engineers to help us create sophisticated, novel end of arm tooling. You will work closely with other disciplines (Hardware, Software, ML, Manufacturing, Product, etc.) to ensure that the designs you create integrate into our larger system design.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Electronic, Electrical or Computer Engineering Degree
  2. Or other education and relevant industrial experience
  3. 3+ years of experience working in electronics design
  4. Excellent understanding of electronics fundamentals
  5. Familiarity with PCB design and simulation tools, e.g., KiCad, Altium, SPICE
  6. Experience working with stakeholders to capture requirements
  7. Excellent communication and documentation skills
  8. Strong understanding of low-level programming languages (e.g., C/ASM)
  9. Ability to select components based on high-level system requirements

Bonus Qualifications:

  1. Experience with board-level hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART) and fieldbus technologies (Modbus, CANopen, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP)
  2. Experience in selecting and integrating motors (BLDC, stepper, etc.) and motor controllers
