Senior Electronics Engineer - Robotic Grasping Systems

Join us to apply for the Senior Electronics Engineer - Robotic Grasping Systems role at Ocado Technology.

Ocado Technology designs and deploys thousands of robots across four continents. We are seeking experienced Electronics Engineers to develop sophisticated, novel end-of-arm tooling. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Hardware, Software, ML, Manufacturing, Product, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of your designs into our larger system.

Essential Qualifications
  • Electronic, Electrical, or Computer Engineering Degree
  • Or equivalent education and industrial experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in electronics design
  • Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals
  • Familiarity with PCB design and simulation tools (e.g., KiCad, Altium, SPICE)
  • Experience gathering requirements from stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in low-level programming languages (e.g., C, ASM)
  • Ability to select components based on high-level system requirements
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience in power electronics design
  • Experience in analog circuitry design
  • Experience designing for high-volume production
  • Knowledge of board-level hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART) and fieldbus technologies (Modbus, CANopen, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP)
  • Experience selecting and integrating motors (BLDC, stepper, etc.) and motor controllers
  • Practical experience with EMC compliance systems
