Job summary

ABB is seeking a senior Electronics Hardware Engineer in Canada to design and develop electronic circuits for complex systems. The role requires 15+ years of experience, strong analytical skills, and hands-on prototyping and testing of boards.

Proficiency with Altium Designer, PSpice and MATLAB is expected; programming with C, Python or VHDL is a plus. Fluency in French and English is required, with French as a must for local communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in electronics hardware.
• Prototyping and commissioning of electronic boards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in French and English; French is required, English used for external customers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic circuits with modeling and simulation for digital and analog systems.
• Select components and design cables and harnesses.
• Contribute to design documentation, budgets and test/commissioning docs.
• Participate in commissioning and testing of electronic boards.
• Lead multidisciplinary design reviews and present progress at milestones.
• Participate in project planning and estimation tasks; ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and EMC standards.
