Job summary

Generac Power Systems in Canada is seeking a Senior Electrical Test Engineer for the BESS Engineering Team. The role involves coordinating and executing testing of battery energy storage systems and inverters, developing test plans, and driving root-cause analysis.

You will work with cross-functional teams to validate hardware and software, prepare commissioning documentation, and mentor junior engineers. The position follows a Friday–Monday schedule with typical daytime hours.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with stored energy and high AC/DC currents/voltages.
• Hands-on testing with oscilloscopes and power supplies.
• Experience developing test plans, procedures, and reports.
• Strong root cause analysis and corrective action skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute testing for ESS, PCS, and generator systems.
• Develop test plans and validate new firmware/settings for inverters/BMS.
• Create site plans and SLDs via AutoCAD; document results.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and manufacturing to resolve issues.
• Perform risk assessment and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; support certifications.
