Job summary

e-Zinc in Toronto is seeking a Senior Engineer, Electrical & Power Systems to lead design, integration, and validation of electrical systems for long-duration energy storage. You will own system architecture, modelling, equipment selection, and work with BMS and PCS components across the product lifecycle.

The role requires 10+ years in power systems, familiarity with NEC/CEC, and hands-on experience with inverters and power conversion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in power systems, power conversion, energy storage or renewables.
• Experience with electrical design, diagrams, layouts, and drawings.
• Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and ESA/CSA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, integration, testing, and certification of Power Conversion System (PCS) and electrical systems for energy storage projects.
• Develop and review single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts, grounding, and construction docs.
• Size and select inverters, DC converters, protection systems, and PCS components.
• Collaborate with Software and Controls to integrate BMS with power conversion hardware.
• Prepare electrical studies and participate in prototype, testing, commissioning, and field deployment.
