Job Description

We are committed to environmental responsibility and are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our GTA and/or Waterloo offices. As part of the Engineering Design Organization (EDO) Group, you will work on a variety of electrical projects including installations, upgrades, testing, commissioning, and construction support for commercial, residential, healthcare, municipal, and industrial sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of low voltage power distribution, motor control, electrical system protection, standby power, and detailed design, along with experience in contract administration and commissioning activities. Adaptability to different client standards and managing client relations are essential.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading electrical projects from assessment to design, client presentations, and project management.
• Mentoring junior staff and contributing to proposals and business development.
• Preparing detailed design packages covering utility interconnection, power distribution, motor control, standby systems, security, fire alarm, and other building systems.
• Ensuring compliance with Canadian electrical codes and standards.
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and external vendors.
• Supporting tendering, construction, and site inspections.

Qualifications:

• B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and P.Eng. registration in Ontario.
• Minimum 15 years experience in MV and LV electrical systems, with healthcare, commercial, residential, and municipal project experience.
• Proven leadership in managing teams, client relations, and project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian electrical codes and safety standards.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with developers and architectural firms is an asset. P.Eng. outside Ontario and PMP are assets. Valid G class driver’s license required.
