Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support Technical Services in Labrador City. The role focuses on maintaining and improving electrical standards, systems and tools to enhance reliability, safety and performance of operations.

The successful candidate will apply technical expertise to complex challenges, influence long‑term performance of assets, and collaborate with operations, maintenance and project teams in a residential, fly‑in/fly‑out‑free environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with Power Engineering specialization.
• Professional Engineer registration with PEGNL or eligibility.
• Experience delivering electrical solutions in industrial/mining settings.
• Knowledge of power distribution systems and asset management.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for electrical system issues and changes.
• Support electrical upgrades driven by operations and capital projects.
• Review project designs for capital sustaining projects.
• Lead electrical studies and asset improvements across lifecycles.
• Ensure designs meet engineering standards and operational needs.
• Maintain single line diagrams, ETAP model, and relay settings
