Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be part of the Mining Team, based in Brampton, Sudbury, North Bay, Thompson, St John, or Thunder Bay.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• PLC, Power, Automation, and instrumentation mining experience required.
• Responsible for maintaining the firm's engineering quality standards on assigned projects.
• Oversees development of design concepts by Designers, ensuring proper application and execution.
• Verifies Designer’s work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
• Responsible for applying EXP’s risk management practices in electrical engineering.
• Possesses a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all aspects of discipline engineering.
• Encourages collaboration to seek the best solutions.
• Manages work plans and deliverables across multiple projects within budgeted hours.
• Executes complex electrical designs with conflicting requirements or difficult coordination.
• Performs front-end loading of electrical systems for projects.
• Contributes to revisions of EXP’s design standards and master specifications.
• Evaluates value engineering (cost-cutting) items considering risk.
• Develops and edits basis of design narratives documenting project scope.
• Develops electrical one-lines, load lists, area classifications, etc.
• Participates in HAZOP, PHA, safety reviews.

What Your Experience Looks Like

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• EIT or Registered P.Eng.
• At least 5-10+ years of experience in the mining or industrial industry.
