Job summary

Saltworks Technologies in Richmond, BC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Technologist to lead electrical design for our advanced water treatment and lithium refining systems. You will draft electrical diagrams, build power and control panels, and generate BOMs for industrial equipment.

You will validate designs against standards, coordinate with supply chain for procurement, and commission panels on-site from 24V DC to 600V AC.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• 5–8 years of experience in industrial electrical environments, supporting design, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of control panels.
• Hands-on prototyping and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with electrical hardware components and manufacturers for enclosures, disconnects, breakers, cables, motor contactors, etc.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, schedules, and cable pull sheets.
• Basic knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and its application.
• Experience with EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft electrical design drawings and documentation (single line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules).
• Design 480/600V AC power panels and 24V DC PLC control panels.
• Create BOMs for electrical components and assemblies.
• Prepare cable schedules based on equipment location and install details.
• Ensure deliverables meet project requirements, standards, and best practices.
• Ensure work packages and parts are ready before build; resolve inquiries quickly.
• Support procurement of electrical hardware and equipment.
• Configure field devices and adjust VFD parameters.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks and loop tests on panels and instrumentation.
• Commission control panels from 24V DC to 600V AC.
• Redline drawings for as-built changes and contribute to process improvements.
