Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Canada Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team, leading the design and execution of electrical systems from concept through commissioning for complex energy and industrial projects.

You will prepare and support detailed designs for AC/DC distribution, grounding, MV/LV cabling, and related systems, while reviewing contractor drawings and documentation, and assisting with startup and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with OIQ or eligible.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation or industrial sectors.
• Proficiency in North American electrical codes and standards (CSA, IEEE, ANSI).
• Ability to communicate effectively in French, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of electrical systems from concept to commissioning.
• Prepare engineering deliverables: single-line diagrams, distribution & control diagrams, layouts, cable routing, grounding, lighting and power drawings.
• Provide construction support and review contractor drawings and submittals.
• Support startup, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Act as the electrical discipline lead on multidisciplinary projects.

Job Description Overview Join AtkinsRéalis and contribute to the delivery of complex electrical engineering solutions that support critical energy and industrial infrastructure projects. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, leading the design and execution of innovative electrical systems from concept through commissioning while helping clients achieve successful project outcomes.

Your Role

Prepare and support preliminary and detailed engineering designs for AC and DC electrical distribution systems, mechanical equipment controls, grounding systems, building electrical systems, MV/LV cables, and cable routing. Perform technical studies and develop detailed technical specifications for the supply and installation of electrical equipment. Prepare engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams, distribution panel schematics, control diagrams, layouts, cable routing drawings, grounding plans, and lighting and power drawings. Provide construction support, including the review and verification of contractor drawings, technical documentation, and equipment submittals. Support the startup, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems. Act as the electrical discipline lead on multidisciplinary engineering projects.

About You

Ability to hold a degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. Ability to be registered as a Professional Engineer with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or be eligible for registration. Ability to demonstrate a minimum of 15 years of experience in power generation or industrial sectors. Proficiency in North American electrical codes and standards, including CSA, IEEE, and ANSI. Ability to communicate effectively in French, both written and spoken. Practical field experience supporting engineering, construction, operations, or maintenance activities is an asset.
