Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Staff Electrical Engineer located in Markham, ON. The role involves designing and developing electrical systems for various projects, managing power distribution and power systems, performing complex calculations, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards, and collaborating with other teams. Some work from home is acceptable.

Responsibilities:

• Develop electrical designs, specifications, and schematics for renewable energy and e-mobility systems such as photovoltaic (PV) solar, EV charging, battery storage systems, and grid integration.
• Perform electrical system analysis, load flow studies, fault analysis, and reliability assessments to ensure system stability and efficiency.
• Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, reports, and proposals for renewable energy projects. Provide support during all project phases, from feasibility studies to commissioning and operational handover.
• Ensure that designs adhere to industry standards, local codes, and regulations. Support the preparation of regulatory submissions and assist with compliance audits.
• Work closely with other engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with renewable energy projects.
• Identify and resolve electrical engineering challenges that may arise during project execution or in existing systems.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve renewable energy designs and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Electricity, Power Distribution, and Power Systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
