Description

This role involves working within a project team to design, modify, and analyze electrical systems for nuclear power plants.

Responsibilities include:

1. Preparing and reviewing engineering design change packages for equipment installation, replacement, or upgrades to ensure reliability.
2. Conducting detailed engineering calculations supporting design changes, such as power studies, short circuit analysis, and protective relay settings.
3. Drafting and reviewing equipment procurement specifications.
4. Participating in vendor bid evaluations and managing communication with vendors.
5. Developing scoping documents for conceptual designs and conducting constructability reviews.
6. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and interfacing with clients and vendors.
7. Attending client meetings and site visits for validation and coordination.
8. Supporting site installation activities and project management to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
9. Overseeing technical, financial, and administrative aspects of the engineering scope, including scope definition, deliverables, progress tracking, and reporting.

Qualifications

Note: We do not sponsor work authorization in Canada for this position. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or from countries listed in Appendix A to Part 810 of the CFR.

Essential skills and experience include:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Canadian or U.S. program.
• Minimum of five years' experience in electrical system design for industrial applications, preferably in nuclear power plants.
• Experience in equipment selection, design change documentation, and calculations.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, transformers, generators, relays, etc.
• Strong communication skills, detail orientation, and ability to obtain unescorted nuclear station access.

Valued but not required:

• P.Eng. license
• MSEE degree
