Job summary

AWC Solutions in Langley, BC, is seeking an Electrical Design Technologist to join our team. You will drive drawing production, documentation, and drafting excellence for water and wastewater projects.

The role offers ownership over technical documentation, collaboration with engineers, and growth in electrical design. You will produce full package drawings, BOMs, and panel layouts, using AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD, while ensuring standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree with CAD or electrical coursework; an accredited Diploma in Engineering Technology or CAD-related field preferred.
• ET or C.Tech. designation considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and drafting of full electrical and I&C project document packages (SLDs, schematics, loop diagrams, cable schedules, etc.).
• Create and update drawings in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical; translate specs and markups into submission-ready packages.
• Coordinate drawings across electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and process disciplines for consistency and accuracy.
• Prepare control panel layouts and wiring diagrams; generate BOMs, drawing schedules, and material lists.
• Assist FAT of electrical control panels with hardware and systems teams.
• Contribute to drawing standards, templates, and quality control practices.
