Job summary

Umbrella Family invites applications for a Program Supervisor to oversee two high-quality childcare centres serving infants to school-age children. You will supervise staff, ensure licensing and regulatory compliance, and drive program quality in line with How Does Learning Happen.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you’ll manage finances, partnerships with schools and community partners, and ensure excellent service to families. A Diploma in ECE and CECE registration are required.

Qualifications

• College Diploma (or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education is required.
• Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), member in good standing.
• Five (5) years of experience in a childcare centre and two (2) years of people management experience.
• Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Knowledge of employment and child care legislation and regulations, to carry out responsibilities.
• Ability to provide professional guidance to supervised staff.
• Additional training in infant care is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of the CCEYA is required.
• S Vulnerable Sector check, food handler’s certificate and standard first aid CPR-C are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team across two childcare centres.
• Ensure programs align with How Does Learning Happen and implement its four foundations.
• Maintain licenses, inspections and related documentation.
• Support partnerships between child care and school staff.
• Oversee financial management of the centres and complete admin tasks.
• Foster partnerships with community partners.
