Job summary

St.Amant seeks an Early Childhood Educator II/III to work at River Road Children’s Centre. You will help plan and evaluate programs for infants to preschoolers, ensuring dignity and development while maintaining safety and communication with families.

The role requires a relevant diploma or degree, first aid and CPR, and ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a busy child care setting. English is essential; bilingual ability is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Community College diploma or degree meets Manitoba requirements for ECE II/III.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificates required.
  • Experience planning activities for infants to six years old.
  • Knowledge of Manitoba Child Day Care Standards Act and related safety plans.
  • Holds Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry/Adult Abuse Registry checks.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to generate ideas to improve procedures and practices.
  • Physically capable of lifting, moving and caring duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements development programs for infants to preschoolers.
  • Plans emergent and thematic activities to maximize development and dignity.
  • Collaborates with staff and communicates with families about progress.
  • Maintains child safety, health and well-being following policy.
  • Provides guidance to Child Care Assistants and ensures program fidelity.
  • Adheres to Manitoba care standards and licensing requirements.

Education

Community College diploma (2-year) or Undergraduate Degree which meets the requirements for Classification as an Early Childhood Educator II/III with the Manitoba Child Day Care Office
Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as a collaborative team player
Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to generate ideas to improve work procedures
Proficiency in English; bilingual (French/English) considered an asset
