Job summary

Haply Robotics is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to be the first dedicated developer behind how operators fly, train, and feel drones through haptics. You will build the Drone platform software, connecting Haply controllers to drones and vehicles, and shape the shared architecture with Haply’s HARP robotics stack.

The role combines flight control, simulation, and tactile feedback in a defense-forward context.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering in a systems language (Rust, C++ or similar).
• Hands-on experience with drone flight control and simulators (ArduPilot, PX4, SITL).
• Experience with real-time or low-latency systems and embedded Linux.

Responsibilities

• Turn operator inputs into drone commands across flight modes and autopilots.
• Integrate and maintain simulators for training and testing.
• Lead the Drone platform software architecture and roadmap.
• Develop and refine haptic features and feedback for operators.
• Connect Drone platform to new vehicles and ensure safe operation.
• Collaborate with HARP teams to converge components and architecture.
• Mentor developers and ensure code quality and CI.
• Support field testing with operators and partners.
