Who is Native Shoes looking for?
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Director, Global Sales to lead our global sales organization in the wholesale footwear industry. This leadership role will manage a team of three direct reports, including a North American Strategic Accounts Manager, a Sales Manager who oversees independent representatives and agencies, and an international Sales Consultant. The Director will be instrumental in driving revenue growth, developing actionable sales strategies, and ensuring our wholesale footwear offerings reach new heights in both the kids and adult footwear segments.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Director will play an essential role in translating sales strategies into actionable plans, leveraging strong commercial acumen, and understanding the operational impact of key decisions. This individual will be solutions-oriented and adept at using sales feedback to inform product development, go-to-market strategies, and organizational decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the wholesale footwear industry, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving business results.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership and Strategy Execution
- Develop and execute a robust sales strategy for the North American and International markets, focusing on both kids’ and adult footwear.
- Lead the sales team to ensure sales targets are met and exceeded.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business goals and ensure execution against company priorities.
- Translate high-level sales strategies into actionable plans and measurable objectives for the team.
Team Management
- Manage and develop three direct reports: North American Strategic Accounts Manager, North American Sales Manager who leads independent representatives and agencies and International Sales Consultant who leads sales for our international distributors.
- Foster a high-performance culture by coaching and mentoring team members, setting clear expectations, and holding the team accountable for results.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to ensure alignment with overall company goals and drive consistent growth.
Commercial Acumen and Business Growth
- Use strong commercial insights to identify growth opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate new markets and increase sales.
- Understand the operational implications of sales decisions and work closely with internal teams (e.g., marketing, supply chain, product development) to ensure seamless execution.
- Conduct regular business reviews and analysis to ensure strategic sales objectives are on track, adjusting plans as needed.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Accounts Manager to develop tailored solutions for large accounts.
- Collaborate with the International Sales Consultant to develop tailored solutions for individual distributors to help drive growth
Feedback Loop and Product Requests
- Actively gather sales feedback from both internal and external sources to inform product development, improve offerings, and refine go-to-market strategies.
- Advocate for product and solution improvements based on customer insights, market trends, and competitor analysis.
Go-to-Market and Organizational Leadership
- Lead the implementation of the company’s go-to-market strategy for sales, ensuring that the sales team is aligned with marketing, branding, and product strategies.
- Drive organizational change and innovation to continuously improve processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and streamline operations.
- Work cross-functionally with various departments, ensuring communication and collaboration between sales, marketing, product, and operations teams.
Preferred Experience
- 7+ years of experience in sales leadership within the wholesale footwear industry (or a closely related consumer goods industry).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- Proven success in managing and leading sales teams to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand operational challenges
and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in managing and developing relationships with independent
representatives and agencies.
- Ability to translate complex sales feedback into actionable product and market
insights.
- Strong problem-solving and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Highly organized with a keen ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Compensation
This role is expected to be compensated between $150,000 - $180,000 base salary with
significant earning potential through performance-based incentives directly tied to sales
results. Compensation will vary based on experience, job-related qualifications, and
individual or team sales achievements.
