The Role

We need a Principal DevOps Engineer who can architect, scale, and optimize the infrastructure powering our high-growth fintech platform. You'll be the technical backbone ensuring our systems are reliable, secure, lightning-fast, and cost-efficient as we scale across North America. This isn't maintenance work - you'll be building next-gen cloud infrastructure that processes millions in transactions while keeping our AWS costs lean and our security bulletproof.

What You'll Own

• Cloud Infrastructure & Cost Mastery: AWS Expert- Design and optimize our entire AWS ecosystem (IAM, cross-region communication, S3, EBS, RDS, traffic monitoring) - Cost Optimization Guru: Analyze AWS spending patterns and architect for continuous cost reduction (this is critical in fintech!)
• Operating Systems: Expert-level Windows & Linux administration - Solve complex system-level issues that stump others
• Network Engineering: Configure and maintain wired, wireless, VPN networks - Expert knowledge of network principles and routing
• Containerization & Orchestration: Deep Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker-compose expertise - Deploy with ArgoCD and FluxCD (GitOps methodology) - Manage cloud container lifecycles at scale
• CI/CD & Automation Pipeline: Build Bulletproof Pipelines - Configure and optimize Jenkins or GitHub Actions - Deploy to EKS, ECS, Fargate, Lambda, and serverless platforms - Use API Gateway & CloudFront for secure, high-performance app distribution
• Automation Wizard: Python & Shell scripting expert - Automate infrastructure management, operations, and data workflows - Configure and maintain CodePush Server
• Security, Monitoring & Performance: Security Specialist - Implement enterprise-grade cyber security and network security measures - Configure and maintain SSO (Google, Okta, Azure) and integrate into applications
• Observability & Scaling: Monitor large-scale cloud services and identify performance bottlenecks - Track K8s microservices metrics, performance degradation, and spikes - Implement auto-scaling solutions to handle traffic surges (critical for payment processing!)
• Database & Data Warehousing: MySQL administration expert: transactions, locks, complex SQL optimization - ETL large-scale data into warehouses (Google BigQuery, Snowflake experience)
• Documentation & Innovation: Write clear technical documentation, processes, and operational runbooks
• Bonus: Practical experience with local AI LLM environments (we're exploring AI integrations!)
